Join us for a topic of great importance to citizens and senior executives alike. At our October luncheon, we will hear from a member of the Afghanistan War Commission. LTG Bob Ashley (retired) will discuss why it is important for America to study its wars and how we do it. Lieutenant General Robert P. Ashley, Jr. (ret.) serves as one of sixteen Commissioners on the Congressionally Directed Afghanistan War Commission. He was the 21st Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) from 2017-2020 and previously served as Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2. LTG Ashley spent over 36 years in the U.S. Army as a career military intelligence officer, commanding at multiple levels with six combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His education includes a B.A. in Political Science from Appalachian State University, a master's in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University, and a master's in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
