Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrive at Vienna International Airport and ride by private transfer to a boutique hotel in the historic center. The group meets for a welcome dinner of traditional Austrian food and local wines.
• Day 2: A morning guided walk covers St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Hofburg Palace. After lunch, the group visits the Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace and has free time there. Dinner is at a traditional Viennese restaurant.
• Day 3: A full free day in Vienna. Suggestions include the Spittelberg Village and Rathausplatz markets, roasted chestnuts and kartoffelpuffer, a Viennese café, or the city's museums.
• Day 4: After breakfast, a train runs through the Danube Valley to Budapest, arriving by early afternoon. An afternoon guided walk of Pest takes in the Parliament building, St. Stephen's Basilica and the historic Jewish Quarter. Dinner features Hungarian dishes such as goulash and chimney cake.
• Day 5: The morning is spent at the Széchenyi Thermal Baths, with outdoor pools among neo-baroque architecture. After lunch, free time is for the markets at Vörösmarty Square and the Basilica, or for Buda's Castle District, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion.
• Day 6: A free day in Budapest for markets and shopping, including Hungarian folk art, embroidered linens and handmade ceramics, with lángos and mulled wine. Options include a Danube River cruise or the Central Market Hall.
• Day 7: After breakfast and last market visits, a private transfer goes to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport for the flight home.
